This is the most chosen stream for 10+2 education and offers many lucrative career options including medicine and engineering. It is also popular for the fact that it keeps you options open, i.e. a student is allowed to select commerce or arts after pursuing science in 10+2, while commerce and arts students cannot pursue science.

In science stream, you have to take at least six subjects including one compulsory language. Science Eligibility & Entrance Exams

As indicated above, Science courses can be pursued at all – UG, PG and PhD levels. The eligibility criteria differs as per the course and branch chosen by a candidate. However, given below is a broad eligibility criteria for UG and PG Science courses for the reference of candidates:

UG level: Candidates should clear class 12th with PCM, PCB or PCMB subject combinations and at least 50% - 60% aggregate marks.

Science Courses

Candidates can pursue degree, diploma, certificate, integrated, and vocational Science courses at UG, PG, and PhD levels. Candidates can pursue these courses as full-time, part-time, distance/ correspondence, and online programmes.

Degree Science courses: Candidates can obtain a BSc, BSc (Honours) or MSc degree at UG and PG levels.

Diploma Science courses: Diploma courses are typically one year duration Science programmes that can be pursued at both UG and PG levels.

Certificate Science courses: Certificate courses are basically short-term courses of typically four to six months duration. Such courses can be pursued as both full-time and part-time programmes.
